Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC)

Now, more than ever, you deserve to keep your money, especially during tax season.  To qualify for FREE tax help and possible earned income tax credits (the EITC reduces the amount of income tax low-to-moderate income families are required to pay, and provides a wage supplement to some families) and child care credits, your 2009 household income must be less than $52,000.  Being a U.S. citizen is NOT a requirement.

The below information sheet lists the required documents to bring with you to prepare your tax return, and a list of sites where you can receive assistance in filing in Sonoma County.  The site located at the Human Services Department (2550 Paulin Drive Santa Rosa) will be open mid-January.  To schedule an appointment call 2-1-1.  The other tax assistance sites will be open by mid-February, but call ahead to schedule an appointment.
